President's Message

Shout It From the Rooftops – School Meals Matter! Are you spreading the word? Sharing your stories? Tooting your own horn? As school nutrition professionals what we do matters and matters in a BIG way; just ask any of the students you greet every morning with a friendly smile and a hot breakfast! WSNA is here to serve you and help you be the best you can be as a child nutrition professional feeding our children, our future leaders; we want to hear from you! In January we had our WSNA Day on the Hill, aka Tennis Shoe Day, in Olympia. This day has its nickname for a reason; every 15 minutes we are meeting with a different legislator. Our lobbyist, Mitch Denning, schedules the appointments; and on this particular day we had 32 of them, 7 of which had to be deferred to the following week. I would like to thank Alisha Neal and Doug Voeller for joining Mitch and me on the Hill and helping us to communicate our needs and concerns to our legislatorsRead MoreEmail President
